Our Program
The development of children throughout their earliest years takes place through relationships, particularly within families who are the child’s first and most influential educators.
Educators view culture and the context of family as central to a child’s sense of being, belonging and becoming. All program planning is based on a child’s culture, their current interests, knowledge, and strengths to ensure their motivation and engagement in learning.
We take a holistic approach appreciating each child’s physical, personal, social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing as well as their cognitive aspects of learning.
As your child’s early childhood educators, we take on many roles in play with children and use a range of strategies to support learning. We engage in sustained shared conversations with children to extend their thinking. We always try to provide a balance between child led, child initiated, and educator supported learning.
We use intentional teaching strategies to actively promote children’s learning through worthwhile and challenging experiences and interactions that foster high-level thinking skills.
Our learning environment both indoors and out support all aspects of children’s learning and invite conversations between children, early childhood educators, families, and the broader community.

We gather and analyse information as evidence about what children know, can do and understand. It is part of our ongoing cycle that includes planning, documenting, and evaluating children’s learning.
Our Program enables educators to:
-
plan effectively for children’s current and future learning
-
communicate about children’s learning and progress
-
determine the extent to which all children are progressing towards realising learning outcomes and if not, what might be impeding their progress
-
identify children who may need additional support in order to achieve particular learning outcomes, providing that support or assisting families to access specialist help
Our centre’s pedagogy highly revolves around the growth of a child through natural play, and the encouragement for children to establish and maintain friendships and relationships.
We provide opportunities for children to interact with one another, and with educators, through:
-
Free play both indoors and outdoors
-
One on one interactions with teachers (specifically during school readiness activities)
-
Small group times (such as our library system where children have rotating days to borrow books and present to each other)
-
Large group times (such as mealtimes, music/ movement, games, and group projects)
We support children through transitions, including from home to early childhood settings and from early childhood settings to school. In partnership with families, our educators ensure that children have an active role in preparing for transitions. Our school readiness program and graduation ceremony prepare children for their move to primary school.
